What have you learned through nutrition coaching? Food tracking is data and data drives change. I was reluctant to start nutrition coaching because I didn’t want to constantly track my food and weight; it felt like it would become obsessive and counterproductive to be thinking about food all the time. In reality, tracking helped me realize that I was not eating nearly enough protein. Now that I’m getting more protein I don’t feel hungry (hangry!) all the time.
What is the biggest thing you’ve changed that has most led to your success? I think that I have regained some of my mental toughness and increased my mindfulness about my habits/tendencies. Before starting with Bree, I had stopped coming to crossfit classes and was struggling to find the energy to even take daily walks or plan a simple meal for dinner. She helped me break things down into manageable steps–those first small changes dramatically increased my energy and ability to tackle the next thing. Tracking my food intake and weight changes has helped look at the big picture. It’s okay to eat out with the family or splurge on a treat–just get back to normal for the next meal.
What advice do you have for someone considering nutrition coaching?
Just do it already; the only regret you might have is not starting sooner 🙂
